Goldfish Swim School - Aliso Viejo is a rapidly expanding franchise that is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of General Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our school, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending departments, private party operations, and workplace employee activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Direct and control the daily operations to ensure the school is running in accordance with Goldfish Swim School's standard operating procedures.
  • Staff Management: Manage the staff of Goldfish Swim School to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Aquatics Department: Train and oversee the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to our students. Interact with Deck Supervisors and Lead Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service, and employee performance and training.
  • Sales and Marketing: Provide sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
  • Retail and Vending: Provide direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.
  • Private Parties: Train and oversee private party staff to ensure that Goldfish Swim School's standard operating procedures are being maintained.
  • Software and Pool Operations: Gain knowledge and experience in the Links software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions. Gain a high level of knowledge and experience in Goldfish Swim School's pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Employee Activities: Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities (Fun Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.
  • Safety and Emergency Procedures: Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures that pertain to the Goldfish Swim School facility. Train all current staff on the Goldfish Swim School EAP.
  • Certifications and Professional Development: Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.
  • Staff Scheduling and Payroll: Schedule staff and manage payroll.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience: Three to five years of management experience is preferred. Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or aquatics instructor/supervisor is preferred.
  • Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications required.

Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
