Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance shift, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Directing and controlling skilled labor in the areas of equipment repair and safety training
  • Implementing and sustaining the elimination of equipment recurring issue program
  • Complying with local, state, and federal guidelines as specified in codes
  • Meeting budget requirements with regard to manning and other department costs
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce maintenance costs
  • Complying with current Quality Systems requirements and Lean Manufacturing procedures
Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Properly organizing, directing, and controlling skilled labor in the areas of equipment repair and safety training
  • Having knowledge of computerized maintenance systems to effectively manage all aspects of the maintenance operation
  • Implementing and sustaining the elimination of equipment recurring issue program
  • Complying with local, state, and federal guidelines as specified in codes
  • Complying with plant safety, health, and personnel policies
  • Meeting budget requirements with regard to manning and other department costs
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce maintenance costs
  • Complying with current Quality Systems requirements and Lean Manufacturing procedures
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Management preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance operations, or a combination of education and experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and team-oriented person with exceptional communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements

The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to:

  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and assist in moving machinery to and from production floor
  • Ability to work in high places, deep pits, and in any weather conditions
Equipment Used

The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to use:

  • Various hand and power tools, welders, grinders, torch, mill, and lathe
  • Required computer skills to properly and effectively perform job, including Microsoft office programs and maintenance management programs
