Job Overview

JOB CATEGORY: COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER / ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

POSITION SUMMARY: This role encompasses front desk responsibilities for the health center and involves a range of administrative tasks including managing patient appointments and registrations, overseeing patient flow, as well as handling billing and payment collections.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare environment or one year in administrative or customer service roles is required.
  • Proficiency in computer systems is essential; familiarity with Windows-based applications is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience or training in customer service is advantageous.
  • Experience in medical billing is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish/English or Navajo/English are preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • If the role involves assisting with state Medicaid enrollment or health insurance exchange enrollment, completion of necessary state and federal training programs and obtaining relevant certifications is required before providing these services.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:

This position mandates successful completion of an initial post-offer screening:
  • As per organizational policy, compliance with healthcare personnel testing and immunization requirements is necessary. Testing and immunizations, including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be conducted at the employee's designated health center. Influenza vaccinations will be required according to guidelines set by health authorities.
If assigned to specific health systems, successful completion of a criminal background check is also required.
