Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our team in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, analyzing chemical content of fluids, and cross-matching blood for transfusion and organ transplantation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.
  • Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms.
  • Analyze chemical content of fluids.
  • Cross-match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation.
  • Prepare cells for use in cellular therapies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training.
  • Eligibility for ASCP, AMT, or equivalent board certification exam.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist certification within 18 months of hire.
