Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will spearhead both regional and global initiatives for innovative Hair and Scalp products, taking charge of product formulation development that integrates consumer insights from various channels.

The Lead Scientist will hold comprehensive responsibility for product development, which encompasses new formulation and technology implementation, as well as lifecycle management for projects that may involve hair cleansing, treatments, and styling solutions.

Essential qualifications include strong scientific and communication skills, along with the ability to navigate complex challenges effectively.

The candidate will provide both strategic and operational expertise in executing regional and global projects, utilizing new consumer insights to cultivate a strategic innovation pipeline.

Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior scientists.

The Lead Scientist will be accountable for designing and executing global and regional projects aligned with overarching global strategies, ensuring scope definition, budget adherence, and effective problem-solving methods, all while demonstrating thorough organizational knowledge.

They will ensure that global projects are tailored to meet regional demands, following the Global Product Development Operating Model, while leading cross-functional technical and project teams.

As a technical subject matter expert in hair and scalp technologies and formulation development, the Lead Scientist will operate independently of technical direction, executing projects and analyses with hands-on involvement.

The Lead Scientist will also be responsible for drafting and executing peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, and patent applications.

Qualifications

Required:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Cosmetic Chemistry/Science is essential, along with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in either academia or industry.

Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Preferred:

A PhD degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred, along with experience in hair care formulations.
