Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced driver to join our team as a Transportation Coordinator. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting beneficiaries and personnel to and from various destinations.

  • Transport beneficiaries to/from work therapy assignments.
  • Transport Salvation Army personnel to/from official business.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of assigned vehicle (including securing of vehicle at end of day).
  • Daily inspections of air, water, oil, etc. to maintain equipment in good operating condition.
  • Responsible to promptly report to immediate supervisor all accidents involving assigned vehicle, personal injury, or property damage.
  • Act as personal representative of The Salvation Army and ensure that all passengers are treated courteously.

Requirements:

  • At least two years: licensed driving experience or have a passing grade on the 'Coaching the Experienced Driver' self-study course.
  • Able to read two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak to customers and helpers.

Working Conditions:

This position includes truck, van, and warehouse environments which reflect temperature and humidity of outdoors. This is a split shift position with working hours of 7-9 am and 2-4 pm.
