Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex surgical needs, including ordering diagnostic tests and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement specialty practice standards and participate in research to enhance patient care.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to provide evidence-based care.
  • Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and collect clinical data to inform treatment decisions.
  • Administer medications, perform minor surgery, and order medical laboratory tests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, complete coding for billing, and manage medical supplies and instruments.
  • Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring smooth patient processing and treatment.
  • Act as a mentor to new staff and physician assistant students.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
  • Professional image and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • HIPAA compliance at all times.
Work Environment

This role requires standing, walking, and frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
