Key Position Details:

We are seeking an experienced RN Manager to lead our Observation Unit. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment to drive patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 to 7 years of clinical experience. A Master's degree and 2 to 5 years of leadership experience are preferred. The RN Manager will be responsible for managing one or more defined areas of patient care services, providing leadership to nursing staff, and ensuring a culture and environment of safety for patients, staff, and visitors. The RN Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, participating in evaluation and selection of health care technology and information management systems, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities:

The RN Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • Strategic Management: Develops and oversees department/program to ensure alignment to organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies.
  • Clinical Practice Knowledge: Assumes responsibility for evidence-based practice in designated practice areas, defines, interprets, monitors, and maintains standards of practice.
  • Performance Improvement - Safety, Risk, and Regulatory: Utilizes process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of the service/care provided within the department.
  • Leadership of Nursing Staff: Leads recruitment and hiring for positions, onboards, orients, and provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to staff.
  • Financial Management: Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains a realistic, cost-effective annual budget and manages productivity within the department.

Requirements:

The RN Manager will be required to have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • 3 to 7 years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The RN Manager will be preferred to have the following qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • 2 to 5 years of leadership experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

The RN Manager will be required to have the following licenses and certifications:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required if working in Minnesota.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if working in Wisconsin.
  • CPR - Multisource required.
  • American Nurse Credentialing Center Certification preferred.

Physical Demands:

The RN Manager will be required to meet the following physical demands:
  • Medium Work*: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently.
