POSITION OVERVIEW: The Nighttime Security and Assistance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our residents, families, and guests. This position involves responding to emergencies, conducting regular security inspections, and assisting with the overall familiarity of the campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as a positive representative of the community, fostering an atmosphere of respect and courtesy.

2. Adhere to the organization's Mission Statement.

3. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards regarding all medical and personal information.

4. Conduct hourly security checks throughout the premises, documenting any unusual activities.

5. Respond to emergency situations, with or without healthcare personnel.

6. Manage the locking and unlocking of buildings at designated times.

7. Welcome visitors at the entrance, verifying their destinations and granting access as appropriate.

8. Ensure the functionality of the front gate and address any issues that arise.

9. Accompany residents and staff to parking areas after dark, if requested.

10. Engage with any visitors on campus after hours to ensure safety.

11. Direct emergency responders to incidents as needed.

12. Implement and monitor the lighting program throughout the campus.

13. Manage waste disposal by transporting trash from buildings to designated areas.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

1. Participate in training sessions and continuing education as required.

2. Stay informed about fire and safety protocols, including those related to blood-borne pathogens.

3. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.

4. Address maintenance requests promptly, if applicable.

5. Foster positive relationships with residents and staff, addressing concerns constructively.

6. Operate the switchboard and assist at the front desk when necessary.

7. Attend required in-service training sessions.

8. Be available for on-call situations as needed.

9. Monitor emergency and safety equipment regularly.

10. Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education:

Technical training in mechanics, electrical work, plumbing, or HVAC is preferred. CPR Certification is also desired.

B. Experience:

Previous experience in a security or courtesy role is preferred, with a minimum of two years in a similar position.

C. Skills:

Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency in using hand tools and moving equipment is required.

D. Physical Abilities:

Must be able to work in various environments, including outdoor and indoor settings. Ability to lift and move objects of varying weights is necessary.
