Middle School Counselor, Long Term Substitute

Collegiate School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Counselor to fill a long-term substitute position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with adolescents and faculty, and will be committed to building a healthy culture that cultivates student agency, inclusion, growth, discovery, and joy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized counseling support to students
- Collaborate with faculty to promote student growth and belonging
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate SEL curriculum
- Facilitate needs-based small groups on various topics
- Respond to mental health crises and provide ongoing support to students and families
- Facilitate referrals to community providers and communicate with outside professionals
Requirements:
- Experience in counseling school-aged students
- Knowledge of current best practices in middle school teaching and learning
- Ability to develop strong rapport with students
- Enthusiasm for professional growth
- Demonstrated cross-cultural competence
- Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and consultation
- Team player/commitment to cause
- Interpersonal skills for communicating effectively with all members of the Collegiate community
- Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality
- A Master's degree in counselor education, school counseling, or a related field
