Role Summary: Senior Software Developer

Team Dynamics: We are in search of a skilled Data Engineer to enhance our expanding team of development professionals. The selected candidate will be tasked with advancing and refining our data architecture and pipeline, while also streamlining data flow and collection for various teams. The Data Engineer will collaborate with our data division on initiatives and ensure that the data delivery architecture remains consistent across ongoing projects.

Impact of the Role: The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data collection across diverse formats and will have a passion for parsing, transforming, and optimizing data systems, including building them from the ground up. The right individual will be enthusiastic about the opportunity to enhance or even redesign our organization’s data architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for improved scalability.
  • Construct the necessary infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide array of sources into SQL Server, MongoDB, and others.
  • Develop data tools for team members focused on data quality, assisting them in building and optimizing pipelines to improve workflows.
  • Establish processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Candidate Profile:

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles, with a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficient in SQL Server and experienced with relational databases, including query authoring (SQL) and familiarity with various database types, including NoSQL and Big Data.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, ASP.NET Frameworks, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, NoSQL, Java, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Familiarity with multi-threading in C# and ensuring data integrity in SQL Server.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on both internal and external data and processes to address specific business inquiries and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills related to handling unstructured datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting.

Compensation and Benefits:

S&P Global indicates that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The final base salary will be determined based on the individual's geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional benefits provided by S&P Global.
