Job Summary:

The Avionics Technician is responsible for performing operational checks, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and electrical systems on various types of aircraft. This role requires the ability to work within estimated timeframes and adhere to applicable FAA and customer standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cabling, component removal/installation, wire harness removal/installation, and fabrication/repair of wire assemblies.
  • Determine if work can safely be accomplished if the aircraft is in a power-on mode and conduct necessary testing if required.
  • Fabricate and install all wiring assemblies, static lines, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish specific tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform work within estimated hours.
  • Follow all safety procedures and specifications.
  • Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
  • Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
  • Work with minimal supervision and accomplish assignments with minimal rework.
  • Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, counseling, and guidance.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
Secondary Duties:
  • Perform other work as instructed by the Avionics Team Leader or Lead, if qualified.
  • Act as an Avionics Team Leader or Avionics Lead when required and if qualified for the position.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Subject to noises in excess of 85 dB.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders and/or service stands.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment.
  • Ability to breathe through a full-face respirator.
  • Participation in the DOT random drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Normal or corrected hearing.
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected and full color vision.
