Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Cardiovascular Technician Certification (RCVT) program is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in Cardiac Catheterization.
  • Experience as a professional Cardiac Catheterization Technician for at least 12 months within the last 24 months is required.
  • A valid Fluoroscopy license is mandatory.
  • On-call coverage is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

The Lead IR/Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for a range of technical and supportive patient care activities that assist physicians in executing complex and invasive cardiac catheterization procedures, including Vascular and Interventional Radiology studies. This role also involves administrative duties and managing supply inventory.

Duties include:
  • Preparing and positioning patients for procedures.
  • Monitoring gauges, recorders, and video screens of the computer system during cardiovascular imaging.
  • Conducting cardiovascular tests to document patients' cardiac activity using specialized electronic testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
  • Preparing diagnostic procedure reports for physician interpretation.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Maintaining timely and accurate patient billing by reviewing procedures and verifying coding.
  • Assisting in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition through daily inspections.
  • Managing the disposal of hazardous waste and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Organizing and efficiently utilizing supplies to minimize waste.
  • Facilitating effective communication with physicians and staff.
  • Collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure the availability of necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Addressing concerns from physicians and IR/Cath Lab Technologists.
  • Assisting in the development and revision of radiography policies for continuous improvement.
  • Training and orienting new employees on equipment usage.
  • Assisting with inventory management and supply restocking.
  • Complying with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Lifting Requirements:

Heavy lifting: capable of lifting up to 100 lbs. maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions.
