Position Title: Operations Intern or Fellow
Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Status: Nonexempt, temporary

Compensation:
The compensation for the Operations Intern role is $20/hr. The EFI Foundation offers internships to individuals who have recently graduated from high school or are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.

The compensation for the Operations Fellow role is $27/hr. The EFI Foundation provides fellowships to individuals who are pursuing or have recently completed an advanced degree (post-undergraduate).

The EFI Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, dedicated to leveraging technology and policy innovation to expedite the clean energy transition. With leadership from individuals possessing extensive experience in government, academia, and the private sector, the EFI Foundation conducts thorough, fact-based analysis supported by a diverse network of experts.

Role Summary:
The Operations Intern/Fellow will be instrumental in facilitating the efficient operation of the EFI Foundation's office. This role involves managing office supplies and inventory, assisting with meeting logistics, maintaining organized files, and contributing to special projects, including enhancing the contract filing system.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Oversee office supplies and inventory; ensure adequate stock levels and place orders as necessary.
  • Assist with in-person meetings; reserve conference rooms, coordinate catering, and manage guest access.
  • Prepare meeting spaces, including setting up audiovisual equipment and materials.
  • Welcome and assist visitors upon their arrival.
  • Maintain and organize digital files for easy access and proper storage.
  • Support special projects as required.
  • Provide general administrative assistance, including managing mail and answering phone calls.
  • Occasionally assist with calendar management and scheduling under the guidance of the Executive Assistant.
  • Contribute to a positive and efficient office atmosphere.

General Time Allocation:

  • Office Support (Meeting Coordination & Inventory Management): approximately 40%
  • File and Contract Organization: approximately 25%
  • General Administrative Support: approximately 25%
  • Special Projects: approximately 10%

Who You Are:

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, identifying creative solutions to challenges.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to work between 20-40 hours a week.
  • Preferred: 1-3 years' experience in an office environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and videoconferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Salesforce, ContractWorks, GoCo, and JazzHR systems.
  • U.S. citizenship or authorization to reside and work in the United States.
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
