Position Overview:
As a dedicated Wildlife Conservation Biologist with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will collaborate with project teams to conduct essential surveys, including bat presence/absence assessments, acoustic monitoring, radio-tracking, and habitat evaluations. You will take the lead in guiding a small crew to carry out surveys for federally and state-protected bat species across various regions.
Daily Responsibilities:
Your role will involve:
- Independently managing field surveys and data collection for bat species.
- Participating in the analysis of bat call recordings and preparing detailed reports of findings.
- Engaging in proposal development and direct client interactions.
- Exploring diverse ecological projects beyond bat studies, enhancing your professional growth.

Qualifications for Success:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Federal Scientific Collecting Permit or qualifications to obtain one for conducting bat surveys.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant natural sciences discipline.
- Experience in leading mist-netting survey teams and identifying suitable survey locations.
- Proficiency in setting up bat acoustic detectors and managing data downloads.
- A positive attitude and adaptability in fieldwork, especially under changing conditions.
- A valid driver's license.
