Biologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bat Biologist to join our team at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). As a key member of our ecological services team, you will work on a variety of projects, including bat presence/absence mist-net and acoustic surveys, radio-tracking, emergence surveys, and habitat assessments.

• Lead a two-person crew on bat surveys and conduct independent fieldwork
• Identify and establish good survey sites and handle and identify bats of the eastern U.S.
• Set up and download bat acoustic detectors for survey and data analysis
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to deliver high-quality results
• Contribute to proposal efforts and participate in other ecological opportunities

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a natural sciences field (e.g., Wildlife Biology, Environmental Sciences, Ecology)
• Valid Federal Scientific Collecting Permit (or currently sub-permitted) to conduct surveys for federally listed bat species
• Experience leading mist-netting survey crews and setting up bat acoustic detectors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Valid driver's license
