Responsibilities

The Paramedic is responsible for delivering high-quality care and transportation to patients in need. This requires clinical competency, compassion, and excellent judgment. You must be able to prioritize decisions, act quickly, and maintain a safe distance in a constantly changing environment. Additionally, you will need to develop patient rapport, interview patients, and recognize and utilize communication unique to diverse multicultural groups and ages.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience as a Paramedic and an associate or baccalaureate degree in Paramedicine are preferred. You must be proficient in English and have the ability to read, write, and speak the language. Current certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic and current Minnesota and/or Wisconsin Paramedic licensure/certification are also required. Additionally, you must have current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification and ACLS, as well as current ITLS or PHTLS and PALS certifications or the ability to obtain them within 6 months of hire. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are also necessary.

Exemption Status

This position is nonexempt. Compensation details, including education, experience, and tenure, will be considered when job offers are extended. Benefits eligibility is also available. The schedule for this position is full-time, with 72 hours per pay period. The schedule details include 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, and typically every other weekend. International assignments are not available for this position.
