Job Summary:

As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the Acute Care Technician II - On Call will provide comprehensive patient care services and technical support in the Emergency Department. Under the direction of the registered nurse, this role will respond to medical emergencies, perform vital sign measurements, and assist with diagnostic imaging procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Measure and record vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and other patient data.
  • Assist with respiratory care, including setting up oxygen therapy equipment.
  • Provide comfort measures, transport, and ambulate patients as needed.
  • Initiate C-spine immobilization and apply splints and orthopedic soft goods.
  • Assist with wound care, including cleaning and dressing wounds.
  • Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience as a Paramedic or Licensed Practical Nurse, or two years as an Emergency Department Technician.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills, including IV insertion and arrhythmia recognition.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

This role is based in the Gwinnett Medical Offices II, with a scheduled weekly hours of 1 and a call-in/on-call schedule. The worker location is onsite, and the employee status is regular.
