Pharmacist II

As a Pharmacist II in our hospital system pharmacy, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. You will work closely with our team to verify physician orders, adjust dosages as needed, and provide patient education on medication use.

• Verify physician orders for medications using our pharmacy information system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant and efficient operations, providing guidance on complex prescriptions and pharmacy automation systems.
• Adjust dosages based on established protocols, taking into account patient condition and other medications being used.
• Educate patients on proper medication use, especially when using multiple medications or being discharged.
• Manage narcotics and inventory control, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
• Collaborate with Nurses and Physicians to verify orders and obtain additional information as needed.

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas, in good standing.
• Experience in in-patient hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and on-call as needed.
• IV certification required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and healthcare professionals.
