Cardinal Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist II to join our team in the hospital system pharmacy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for adjusting and dispensing medication to patients, ensuring the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy, and providing patient education.

• Verify physician orders for medications using the pharmacy information system, making adjustments according to established protocols.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with State Boards of Pharmacy regulations and provide guidance on complex prescriptions and pharmacy automation systems.
• Adjust dosages based on established protocols for each drug, ensuring appropriateness for the patient's condition and other medications being used.
• Educate patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications, especially when using multiple medications or being discharged.
• Manage narcotics and inventory control, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
• Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining the pharmacy's accreditation and implementing operational changes.

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas required.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and on-call as needed.
• IV certification required or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and healthcare professionals.
