Position Summary

  • Responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interprets schematics and modifies installations to facilitate future maintenance while adhering to local electrical codes and standards.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is properly installed and compliant with regulations.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduits.
  • Skilled in splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and securing with tape or terminal caps.
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and various power equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution devices such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Links power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
  • Conducts continuity tests on circuits to verify electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Monitors the operation of installed systems to identify the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning equipment or systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent GED
