POSITION TITLE: CAL/OSHA INSPECTOR

REPORTS TO: SERVICE MANAGER

What We Provide:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a CAL/OSHA Inspector, you will be required to hold certification for conducting compliance inspections and/or preventive maintenance on products that include compliance inspections, in line with Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.

All candidates must possess a thorough understanding of sections 4884, et. seq. of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, along with ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards relevant to crane and derrick design and operation.

To qualify, the inspector must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, demonstrating knowledge and expertise with the specific equipment related to the license. This experience must be validated through the approval of the Division, allowing certification services only under the supervision of a licensed individual.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and completing monthly inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Performing inspections within allocated hours while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Documenting findings and providing corrective recommendations to clients.
  • Consulting with clients on repair and safety issues, ensuring they are informed of necessary actions.
  • Utilizing company digital tools for electronic documentation and obtaining client approvals.
  • Maintaining compliance with OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other industry regulations.
  • Completing inspection reports accurately and submitting them in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with the service office and Service Supervisor for efficient operations.
  • Maintaining all company equipment and vehicles in proper working order.
  • Participating in monthly safety meetings and adhering to all safety protocols.

EDUCATION: An Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or a related field is preferred, along with equivalent vocational training and experience.

EXPERIENCE: Candidates must demonstrate at least five years of related experience with cranes or derricks, including two years of field duties such as crane inspection, heavy equipment mechanics, or operations supervision. Relevant education may substitute for experience at a ratio of two years of education for one year of experience, up to three years.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential. Candidates must be capable of working at heights and possess strong communication skills. The role may require varied overtime and on-call availability. Physical demands include lifting up to 100 lbs. on rare occasions and frequent climbing and balancing.

Pay Rate: $48.00 per hour.
