Position Overview

The Mechanical Assembly Technician reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is tasked with assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting, and fitting subassemblies and components or auxiliary equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment in an industrial environment. This role operates under moderate supervision with limited interaction with external suppliers or customers.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Assemble and conduct preset calibration and final testing.
  • Perform low to moderately complex assembly and testing of products, which may include small items, light subassemblies, and complete units of smaller dimensions.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and components according to work instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parts and tools as per established work instructions.
  • Follow assembly guidelines to achieve certification for the tasks performed.
  • Work with precision to meet engineering and operational specifications.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently, including Quality Assurance and Test Records.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to utilize various basic hand tools.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • A willingness to demonstrate enthusiasm and optimism in work activities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to work instructions.

This position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR and EAR, or possess the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
