Position Overview

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will report to the manufacturing supervisor and be tasked with assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting, and fitting sub-assemblies and components or auxiliary equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment in an industrial environment.

This role operates under limited supervision, requiring moderate decision-making and problem-solving skills, while also providing guidance to fellow members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and perform preset calibration and final testing of products, which may include small, medium, and large items, subassemblies, and complete units.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and components according to work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to enhance processes and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parts and ensure proper upkeep of tools and equipment as per established work instructions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot moderately complex assembly and testing challenges.
  • Adhere to work instructions to achieve certification for tasks performed.
  • Work with precision to meet engineering and operational specifications.
  • Manage inventory by picking and stocking parts from designated areas.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently, including Quality Assurance and Test Records.
  • Prepare Warranty Data Reports for returned items.
  • Identify opportunities for quality and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in using a variety of basic hand tools.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundamental computer skills.
  • Demonstrated eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism towards work activities.
  • Aptitude for defining, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience and applicable certifications.

This position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR and EAR, or possess the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
