Job Summary

The Seattle Times is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our Print Operations team in Kent, WA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems. Your hands-on experience and ability to work independently will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our printing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair production manufacturing equipment, including industrial controls, PLCs, and control panels.
  • Accurately read and reference machine and electrical drawings/schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance employees and production management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Complete all assigned work orders in a timely manner and document relevant information.
  • Provide accurate information for maintaining proper parts inventories.
  • Collaborate with production operators to identify process improvements.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Electrician or equivalent in a similar capacity strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly.
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as work from personnel lifts.
  • Environment includes paper, dust, and noise.
  • Must have ability to work in confined areas.
  • Candidate must have ability to work with contractors, engineers, and vendors regarding electrical equipment upgrades and installations.
  • Computer literacy and good verbal/written communication skills required.
