POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, and tech-savvy professionals to enhance our customer relationships and foster new connections as our business grows.

Optek products measure specific characteristics of liquids through their interaction with light. The unique technology behind our measurements makes our products significantly more engaging and rewarding to sell compared to conventional instruments.

As a Sales Engineer at Optek, you will be assigned to specific industries and regions, focusing on sales development within your market segment. Your primary objectives will be to support and retain existing customers while expanding our market presence by identifying new clients and applications.

To accurately specify and quote the appropriate systems, Sales Engineers will regularly collaborate with customer engineers and plant personnel to evaluate equipment requirements and define the optimal system configuration.

Sales Engineers will travel within their designated area to meet with current and prospective clients, delivering technical presentations that elucidate the technology and detailed aspects of our products. Utilizing your interpersonal skills and product expertise, you will demonstrate how Optek's unique measurement technology can be integrated into customer processes to resolve issues and enhance control, product quality, and yields.

It is essential to note that Optek Sales Engineers are highly regarded by customer engineers, scientists, and technologists across various industries for the solutions they provide.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

  • A degree in science, engineering, or technology, or equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • A solid understanding of industrial instrumentation, automation, and process control is advantageous.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or product management, preferably in a technical context.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The capability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple projects effectively.
  • A valid driver's license and passport (or the ability to obtain a passport).
  • A high level of proficiency in using computers, CRMs, and Microsoft Office.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This role necessitates approximately 25% overnight travel to visit customers at their facilities and to participate in trade events across the United States and Canada.
