Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Security Strategies: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, controls, and solutions for cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Develop Security Standards and Best Practices: Establish and maintain security standards and best practices for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and frameworks.
  • Security Monitoring and Reporting: Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and return on investment (ROI) for security engineering to the Director of Security Operations.
  • Security Event Analysis: Analyze security events and assessment data to detect patterns and trends, identifying security improvements to design and implement.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into cloud-based applications and services, ensuring seamless integration with development and operations teams.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our security posture.
  • Mentorship and Support: Mentor and support other team members on security best practices, promoting a culture of security awareness and excellence.
  • Vulnerability Management: Routinely review and prioritize identified vulnerabilities by risk rating, determining the path to remediation and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Security Infrastructure Assessment: Identify gaps and vulnerabilities in current security infrastructure, determining the appropriate tools and controls to employ and implementing effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document risk findings from internal and external assessments, as well as published bulletins, and communicate regularly on vulnerability remediation project status to management and the IT Risk Department.
  • Penetration Testing and Remediation: Coordinate application penetration testing and post-test remediation, ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Cloud Security Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing cloud security solutions in AWS, using automation or process efficiencies.
  • Cloud Security Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, data encryption, and network security.
  • Security Automation: Extensive experience with security automation, including the use of tools and technologies to streamline security processes.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Extensive experience with IaC, specifically Terraform, to design and implement cloud security solutions.
  • Cloud Computing Principles: Deep understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Security Tools and Technologies: Experience with security tools and technologies, including IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and Qualys Guard.
  • Security Standards and Frameworks: Knowledge of security standards and frameworks, including FFIEC CAT, NIST, CIS, AWS Foundations, and CSA.
  • Relevant Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as CCSK, CCSP, and AWS Certified Security Specialty, are a plus.
