Job Description

At PlainsCapital Bank, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Loan Processor to join our team. As a key member of our credit operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of loans and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Account Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on loan accounts, including inputting new and renewed notes, note modifications, and guarantor records.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of work input by other processors to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Pipeline Management: Monitor a pipeline of loans with varying pricing options, seasonal limits, and other complexities, and communicate with external stakeholders and lending staff as needed.
  • Payment Processing: Process note payments and corresponding GL entries to ensure loan accounts remain in balance.
  • Fee Calculation: Calculate fees and charges associated with loan accounts and reconcile funding requests against collected fees/charges.
  • Advance Requests: Review loan advance requests and confirm borrowing base requirements are met before releasing funds.
  • Escalated Inquiries: Respond to escalated inquiries for research and process complex transactions and set-up requests.
  • Exception Reports: Review exception reports and coordinate with lending staff to resolve and clear exceptions within the core banking system.
  • Reporting: Generate reports related to loan pipeline and provide to lending staff and/or lending management and other stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify deficiencies with approvals and/or documentation on unusual transactions and resolve with lending staff or other appropriate entity.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of loan servicing required with a strong preference for experience in a commercial bank.
  • Skills: Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and produce error-free work in a deadline-driven environment.
