Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at BayMark Health Services. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in helping patients overcome opioid addiction and achieve long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assist patients in crisis management and coping strategies.
  • Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services, including direct service hours and coordination of all services throughout treatment.
  • Involve families and significant others in patients' recovery process whenever possible.
  • Respond to patient grievances and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans to ensure patients' continued success.
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science.
  • Ability to obtain AAP credentials within 180 days of employment.
  • Substance abuse counseling experience and an advanced degree are preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
  • Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
