Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality educational services to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Design and implement tailored education plans that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed.

Create a Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment

Establish a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, motivation, and social-emotional growth.

Provide Differentiated Instruction and Adapt Teaching Strategies

Employ a range of instructional techniques and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.

Assess and Monitor Student Progress

Regularly assess student progress, document achievements, and identify areas for improvement to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.

Collaborate with Colleagues and Parents

Work closely with other teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure effective communication, coordination of services, and a unified approach to supporting students with special needs.

Utilize Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment

Integrate assistive technology and adaptive equipment to facilitate student participation, independence, and access to learning materials.

Monitor and Address Social-Emotional Development

Regularly monitor and address students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Special Education

A master's degree in Special Education is preferred, but not required. A valid teaching certificate or credential in Special Education is essential.

Familiarity with IEPs and Assistive Technology

Experience with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement them effectively is crucial. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment is also highly desirable.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
