Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fitness Specialist to join our team at Power Wellness. As a Fitness Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional fitness services to our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction to members, guests, and participants in medically integrated programs.
  • Screen health history information and coordinate the receipt of medical clearance as applicable.
  • Schedule and perform fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-up appointments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Deliver and explain fitness assessment results, providing exercise guidelines and program recommendations to members, and discussing their individual goals.
  • Respond to medical emergencies with urgency, bringing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and additional first aid supplies, and complete incident reports.
  • Promote and sell ancillary services, including personal training, medically integrated programs, wellness coaching, and nutrition services.
  • Stay knowledgeable about events and activities within the center.
  • Conduct facility rounds every 30-60 minutes, monitoring pool, locker rooms, and fitness areas.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of fitness areas and equipment, inspecting equipment and upholstery, and reporting any required maintenance or repair.
  • Lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Be flexible and accommodating regarding center hours, work schedules, and scheduling appointments for prospects and members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education major.
  • Prior part-time work experience or internship in the fitness industry is preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification is required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
  • Nationally recognized, NCCA-accredited certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a controlled, professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills.
