Job Summary

The X-Ray Technician functions as a Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) with responsibility for operating X-Ray equipment for the purpose of diagnosing and treating patient disease/injury by the primary care provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for patient care and providing necessary medical services to patients of Palms Medical Group (PMG) within their scope of practice in accordance with stated policies, procedures, and protocols of PMG and Florida State Statute.
  • Maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with up-to-date documentation of services provided.
  • Exhibit professionalism when greeting and escorting patients to the X-Ray suite.
  • Perform basic radiological procedures and provide patients with digital discs of X-Ray images if indicated.
  • Responsible for inventory management, maintaining knowledge of inventory procedures, and submitting order requests to the VP of Business Continuity & Client Relations and designated Clinical Care Coordinator.
  • Maintain the X-Ray suite, order and restock radiological supplies, and maintain responsibility for the overall operation of the X-Ray suite.
  • Responsible for administrative duties, maintaining X-Ray tracking logs, observing and following OSHA standards and PMG Infection Control/Safety protocol, and promptly faxing orders to Doctor's Imaging Group along with patient encounter forms before releasing patients from the clinic.
  • Assist the Clinical Care Coordinator, Regional Manager, or VP of Practice Management with data collection as necessary, perform audits, administer and collect surveys, and follow up with red charts as directed by the Clinical Care Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Job duties require the ability to both work independently and as part of a team.
  • May be expected to travel to and provide coverage for other PMG clinics during BXMO absences.
  • Exhibit competency when utilizing the following equipment: Radiation Protective Equipment, Digital X-Ray, Image Receptors, Factor Selection, Copying Digital Image onto a CD, ECG, PFT, In-house hemoglobin, Lab centrifuge, AED, Autoclave, Vital Sign Machine, Nebulizer and accessories, Blood Glucometer, INR, In-house hemoglobin A1c, Oxygen tanks and accessories.
  • Comply with job competencies and skill check-offs as part of annual evaluation.
  • Expected to navigate and operate Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel, and demonstrate other basic computer proficiencies.
Licenses & Certifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Current Basic X-Ray Machine Operators License (BXMO) in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Primary Care setting preferred.
  • Current BLS (basic life support) Certification.
  • CMA/LPN/RN.
