Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Parts Counter Person to assist our customers with their parts needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory, processing orders, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place daily parts orders, stock incoming orders, and maintain inventory control.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to manage inventory physically and electronically.
  • Assist in annual parts inventory preparation and execution.
  • Keep the parts area clean, organized, and uncluttered.
  • Provide support to counter sales reps and cover telephone inquiries as needed.
  • Respond promptly and proactively communicate with customers regarding parts inquiries and delays.
  • Record and identify needed parts efficiently, determining availability and pricing.
  • Fulfill customer orders by providing parts from stock or sourcing locally, ensuring accurate sales transactions.
  • Monitor order statuses, address issues promptly, and notify customers upon parts arrival.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in transportation, warehouse, parts, or service environments required.
  • Qualifications include technical school degree in automotive or diesel repair, parts counter experience, or vehicle/heavy duty equipment repairs.
  • Experience with various vehicles preferred.
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution beneficial.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic PC skills and understanding of PC systems necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Must be a team player committed to customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-solving skills and basic algebra/geometry familiarity advantageous.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High energy level required for constant movement throughout the shift.
