Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Registered Nurse with Wellstar Health System, you will work in a dynamic clinical environment, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Core Responsibilities
  • Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
    • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of clinical care, utilizing evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure individualized care.
    • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
    • Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) to set and achieve goals, using effective communication methods such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching.
    • Practice using current clinical practice standards, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting the professional care delivery model.
    • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner, promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
    • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
  • Professional Development and Initiative
    • Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
    • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, ensuring a qualified workforce and modeling the professional practice of nursing.
  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research
    • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
    • Participate in activities such as value analysis to evaluate patient care products.
  • Resources and Support
    • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum, providing direct patient care.
    • Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in nursing or graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
  • Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact, Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor, Neonatal Resuscitation Prvdr or NRP-Provisional or NRP - Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional.
  • Minimum 2 years direct care nursing experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care, and hold basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills, along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
