Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including administering medications, monitoring health conditions, and providing first aid when necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and doctors, to ensure that individuals receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each individual.
  • Provide education and training to individuals and their families on health-related topics, including medication management, nutrition, and hygiene.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss individual progress, address concerns, and develop strategies for improvement.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and SCIP-R (Structured Crisis Intervention and Prevention Response) required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid New York State driver's license required.
