Radiology Technologist Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic imaging, with precision and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process radiographs, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond high school in radiologic technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
