Job Summary:

A Clinical Speech Therapist is required to join our team at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for evaluating patients' needs for therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize potential and quality of life in the areas of speech, language, swallowing, feeding, cognitive, and oral motor performance.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program, with experience in dysphagia and videoflouroscopy swallow studies. You will be expected to maintain professional standards by participating in inservices and hospital/department requirements, and adhere to ICARE values and standards of behavior (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence).

The estimated salary for this role is $ 80,000 - 110,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.

About the Role:

This position involves working as part of a team under the direction of a supervisor and/or manager, supervising speech therapy students, volunteers, and rehab support staff. You will work with physicians, nurses, social workers, physical/occupational/speech therapists, and other specialists to provide care to patients. The job can be physically and mentally exhausting, but it offers a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that comes from helping others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient's need for therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize potential and quality of life
• Develop realistic, functional goals mutually agreed upon with the patient/family
• Perform speech/dysphagia treatment according to established plan, utilizing all available modalities, equipment, and techniques within the scope of speech therapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient's care, rehabilitation programs, and related rehabilitation activities
• Participate in case conference, care rounds, and family meetings to progress patient toward rehab goals and discharge planning
