Reports To: Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities

Position Overview

The role of Visual Arts Faculty Member requires a candidate capable of instructing courses in painting, drawing, and sculpture for both graduate and undergraduate students in the visual arts discipline. The successful applicant will also be expected to lead one of the MFA graduate seminars. Additionally, this faculty member will oversee the safety standards and maintenance of the visual arts department's group studios.

Given the active exhibition schedule in our gallery spaces, the Visual Arts Faculty Member will also take on the responsibilities of a museum and gallery coordinator. This entails experience in exhibition design, installation, and managing logistics for opening exhibitions, including overseeing the setup, signage, and marketing activities. The candidate will engage with visitors, conduct tours, and create educational opportunities for students and the community by organizing and leading tours, camps, and assisting with recruitment efforts for high school students.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art degrees
  • Exhibiting studio artist with relevant experience
  • Teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels
