Custodial Team Leader

Position Overview

The Custodial Team Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. This position involves hands-on work and leadership responsibilities, making it essential for the candidate to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor custodial staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain cleanliness and security.
  • Manage the locking and unlocking of premises, ensuring proper security protocols are followed.
  • Oversee the cleaning of various surfaces, including floors, carpets, and windows, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist with supply management.
  • Utilize equipment such as power lifts for high-reach cleaning tasks.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes respect and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a custodial role, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, including carpet care and floor maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with staff and visitors.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
