Quality Assurance Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Intern to join our team at Butterball, LLC. As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate the "Less Than Daily" sanitation program and define moisture retention protocols.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure validation, moisture, and Salmonella intervention protocols have been developed.
  • Perform data collection, trend quality metrics, and communicate results.
  • Work with FSQA and Operations teams to ensure sample collection.
  • Work with Laboratory staff to understand sampling and analysis process.
  • Record/report data and results.
  • Support various teams to ensure that manufacturing process is consistent, compliant, and adheres to good manufacturing practices (GMP) requirements.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, or related field with an expected graduation date of December 2025 through June 2026.
  • All participants in this program are required to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skill with Excel formulas to extract, organize, and report data.
  • Showing strong interpersonal and relational skills.
  • Experience with handling customer orders and other customer service functions.
  • Background in supply chain and/or customer service preferred.
  • Exposure to SAP and other MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and WMS (Warehouse Management) systems preferred.
  • Has actively participated or held office in a campus or community organization (preferred but not required).
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Visio, Teams, Power BI, SharePoint).
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs to move products as required. Tools provided when necessary.
  • Standard shift will be during the day, however there may be instances when work during off hours is required for the project.
