The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in generating, producing, and refining high-quality, influential content across diverse subjects.
This role requires demonstrated expertise in overseeing all facets of digital initiatives, including multimedia components, data representations, and cross-platform marketing.
Experience in managing data-centric inquiries and business-related investigations is advantageous.
The selected editor will partner with our Managing Editor of Investigative Journalism and another Senior Editor to lead a team of seven reporters situated throughout the country, creating groundbreaking original content on the most pertinent newsmakers and events.
Areas of focus may encompass social and economic disparities, law enforcement, technology and misinformation, healthcare, climate issues, military affairs, and accountability in government and business.
We prefer this position to follow a hybrid work model, with a general expectation of in-office contributions at least three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Managing Editor of Investigative Journalism to craft meticulously researched, engaging stories that are innovatively presented across all digital platforms while leading a team of reporters in producing these narratives.
Supervise reporters on the investigative team, assisting them in producing journalism that distinguishes our work. This includes mentoring reporters in idea development, providing guidance on reporting and writing, and refining their narratives.
Engage with a diverse array of journalistic talent from both digital and television sectors, including digital team members eager to enhance their long-form storytelling skills, television reporters and producers, as well as freelance contributors.
