We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Runnings. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading the merchandising and sales efforts within your assigned department, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with the Store Manager to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Merchandising and Sales: Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products, set priorities for distribution of new merchandise, and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with purchases, provide excellent customer service, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Team Management: Assist with the training and direction of new department team members, and work closely with Retail Buyers to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs.
- Store Operations: Ensure safety is practiced when handling merchandise, and assist with other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Education: High School Diploma preferred, with customer service training and experience a plus.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work an irregular schedule, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, and frequent bending and twisting.
The Department Manager will work in a fast-paced retail store environment, utilizing computer software and network, calculators, cash registers, scanners, telephones, fax machines, and copy machines.
