We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department at UNC Medical Center. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities- Provide rapid evaluation and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department
- Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
- Act as a patient advocate and provide compassionate care
- Utilize triage skills to prioritize incoming patients and facilitate efficient care
- Perform basic data collection and prepare patients for examination
- Facilitate blood draws and starting of IVs as needed
- Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of OEMS-approved training and competency program for Paramedic and current North Carolina Paramedic Certification
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Six months experience in a pre-hospital environment as a Paramedic
This is a per diem position, requiring a commitment to provide availability to work at least 24 hours/month and at least one summer and one winter holiday. The shifts are typically 12 hours and include rotating days, nights, and weekends with flexible self-scheduling to meet the needs of the Paramedic and unit.
