Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager at The Cliffside Inn is a key member of our management team, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving revenue growth. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee front desk operations, housekeeping, and breakfast services, while also contributing to the overall success of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience: Ensure that every guest interaction is positive and memorable, addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Front Desk Operations: Directly oversee front desk staff, managing check-in/check-out processes, room assignments, and guest requests.
  • Housekeeping and Breakfast Services: Supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring that rooms are clean and well-maintained, and oversee breakfast operations, including food preparation and service.
  • Revenue Growth: Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Revenue to develop and implement strategies to increase room revenue and occupancy.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and develop front desk and housekeeping staff, providing coaching and feedback to ensure excellent performance.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with all departments, ensuring that guest needs are met and that the hotel runs smoothly.
  • Problem-Solving: Anticipate and resolve guest complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on front desk and housekeeping operations, including revenue and occupancy data.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in hotel operations, with increasing responsibilities.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Certifications: Property Management System (PMS) certification and knowledge of hotel operations software.
