Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Medication Distribution: Work closely with patients to coordinate oral oncology medication pick-ups, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
- Submit Prior Authorization Requests: Submit requests for prior authorization and financial assistance to our on-site teams.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document all patient information within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Staff: Work closely with on-site pharmacy nursing staff and dispensary employees to support patient care.
- Manage Patient Refills: Manage the daily patient refill log, ensuring accurate tracking and prompt processing of upcoming refills.
- Restock Medications and Supplies: Restock all medications and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Order Medications and Supplies: Order medications and supplies for our practice location, ensuring availability and compliance with budgetary and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate with Physicians and Nursing Staff: Communicate closely with physicians and their nursing staff members.
- Maintain a Secure Dispensing Area: Maintain a secure dispensing area with access limited to dispensing staff members.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT): Must be a certified pharmacy technician.
- Training and Experience: Must be willing to train for 6-8 weeks at our Port Jefferson, NY location. 2 years of specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.
- EMR Experience: Experience with QS1 and Flatiron EMR system is a plus.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Oncology Medication Experience: Experience with oncology medications or specialty pharmacy practices is highly preferred.
- Competitive Salary: Salary up to $32/Hr. Based on experience and certifications.
