We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the advancement of health in our community.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice.
- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as ordered by physicians.
- Conduct pulmonary function studies, EKGs, and cardiac monitoring.
- Assure correct set-up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary in the provision of patient care.
- Provide education to patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Completion of a 2-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or the equivalent).
- North Carolina State Licensure or North Carolina State Provisional License.
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other applicable certifications.
