Job Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and overseeing production timelines within the manufacturing sector to ensure that operational targets are achieved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate production timelines or work directives to relevant departments.
  • Analyze documentation, including production timelines and staffing requirements, to ascertain material needs and priorities.
  • Order and manage inventories of materials or supplies essential for meeting production goals.
  • Coordinate the delivery, assembly, or distribution of materials to facilitate the smooth flow of operations and adhere to production timelines.
  • Engage with department leaders and staff to evaluate progress and discuss necessary adjustments.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed due to design modifications, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other disruptions, collaborating with various departments.
  • Communicate with personnel, suppliers, or clients to synchronize production or shipping activities and address any issues or delays.
  • Inspect documents, materials, or products and oversee work processes to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Document production metrics, including output volume, raw material usage, and quality control measures.
  • Calculate necessary figures, such as labor or material requirements, production costs, or wages, utilizing pricing schedules and computational tools.
  • Gather and prepare information related to production rates, material inventories, and customer data for status reporting.
  • Compile and maintain documentation related to production sequences, logistics, personnel schedules, or procurement orders.
  • Maintain records, such as maintenance logs or cost reports.
  • Contact suppliers to confirm shipment details.
  • Plan production commitments or schedules for various business units based on sales forecasts.
  • Establish and prepare guidelines for product construction, including required tools, materials, equipment, workforce needs, and cost estimates.
  • Provide documentation and insights to account for any delays, challenges, or changes in cost projections.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree or four-year college degree.
  • Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with QSR/ISO regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Able to collaborate with multiple departments and diverse teams.
  • Minimum of two years of planning experience is required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, measuring tools, and process validation is necessary.
  • Ability to create comprehensive written production procedures.
  • Must be capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
