Manufacturing Operations Specialist

The Injection Molding Press Operator is a key role in our manufacturing team, responsible for the setup and operation of injection molding presses. This position involves cross-training in various manufacturing operations to ensure production goals for volume, quality, and cost are met within defined schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Duties:
- Meet daily production targets to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Set up and operate various electric and hydraulic presses and injection blow molders.
- Complete setup paperwork as directed by the supervisor.
- Documentation and Maintenance:
- Read and fill out process documentation.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop and equipment.
- Collaboration and Improvement:
- Participate in production activities across different manufacturing areas as needed.
- Provide input for improved manufacturing methods and support quality initiatives.
- Lead efforts in applying Lean principles for material storage and warehouse organization.
- Troubleshooting and Quality Control:
- Conduct troubleshooting of cycles in collaboration with quality control.
- Perform scheduled humidity tests on materials and check the quality of ground materials.
- Follow instructions to prevent contamination of materials.
- Other Duties:
- Bring molds from Tooling according to the schedule and return them after use.
- Clean molds and check counts on running molds.
- Update job instructions and SOPs as necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience and Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and relevant experience.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic.
- Work Ethic:
- Ability to plan, prioritize workload, and work within defined timetables.
- Problem-solving abilities and capability to work within a cross-functional team.
