Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital facility. This includes inspecting, monitoring, and controlling access to the premises, as well as responding to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Tasks:
    • Accurately maintain daily reports and records.
    • Conduct regular equipment checks to ensure safety and functionality.
    • Understand and operate the access control system.
  • Critical Thinking:
    • Carry out assignments and tasks as directed by supervisors.
    • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
    • Treat confidential information with discretion and respect.
    • Regularly report security incidents to supervisors.
    • Respond appropriately to emergency and crisis situations.
    • Demonstrate effective behavior in dealing with violent or potentially violent circumstances.
  • Interpersonal Relations:
    • Provide assistance and support to colleagues and patients as needed.
    • Demonstrate a consistent level of performance and professionalism.
    • Enforce hospital rules and regulations with a positive and respectful attitude.
    • Support the mission and values of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to work effectively with diverse populations.
    • Consistently perform organizational service standards focused on values, service, and quality.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of good driving experience with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and zero DUI convictions or reckless driving convictions.
  • Periodic motor vehicle/driving record checks may be obtained throughout employment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid LA driver's license (or must obtain one within probationary employment period if coming from out of state).
  • Security experience preferred.
