Center Director/Family Advocate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Center Director/Family Advocate to join our team at Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Head Start Center, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS Early Learning Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and evaluate center staff in accordance with Greater Opportunities personnel policies
  • Ensure proper safety and emergency procedures are followed, conducting regular fire drills and safety checks
  • Manage all center operations, including maintenance of buildings and grounds
  • Support parent involvement through the program and cooperate with other components in planning workshops and activities for parents
  • Implement Family Advocate partnership plan and maintain Family Advocate Records

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, including or in addition to 12 credits in Early Childhood Development
  • At least one year's teaching experience and one year's supervisory experience
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
